Zica is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito also known to carry the yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya viruses.


 


Brazil has been struggling to contain the virus for months with the help of public awareness campaigns. On November 28, Brazil’s Health Ministry found the Zika virus in a baby born with microcephaly, during an autopsy.
