New Delhi: Lung cancer has been significantly increasing among young people. Each year many non-smoking women die from the deadly disease. But eating a healthy diet can lower the risk of developing cancer in the lungs.


Here are some foods that may lower the risk of lung cancer:


Apple


Regular intake of apple helps in lowering the risk of lung cancer as it contains rich amount of flavonoids.


Garlic


Garlic contains diallyl sulphide compound which helps in reducing the risk of lung cancer. Eating the garlic raw helps you to get full benefits.


Broccoli


Broccoli is considered the best green vegetable as it reduces the risk of lung cancer because of its sulforaphane level. It also helps in increasing the production of enzymes to reduce carcinogens from human cells.


Red bell peppers


Red peppers and red chilli peppers helps reduce the risk of lung cancer because of the phytochemical found in it.


Spinach


Spinach contains rich amount of folate, a vitamin and lutein which helps in lowering the risk of lung cancer.
