Doesn't it feel nice to live in a room or house that has that lived-in, comfy feeling? It feels so easy to simply not be very organized and throw everything around for once.

It makes you feel relaxed and easy-going. After all, it's no less than a feat to keep your house clean at all times.

But what you weren't aware of that there are some things in your house – everyday things – that although make you feel calm and relaxed, but are actually making you tired and fatigued.

Yes. Ever felt lazy before going to work? Ever felt so fatigued that you're ready to drop?

This is because you have certain things in your house that make you feel drained even before you do anything.

You probably never paid much attention to these minute details, but that's what we're here for! Listed below are a few things that instead of making you feel relaxed, are actually making you tired.

1. Your usual clutter:

Many would nod their heads in agreement on the fact that it’s more easy to let your home get messy than it is to keep it clean. But, you will be amazed to know that a cluttered home can be a visual and mental drain. According to studies, a messy, cluttered and disorganized environment holds a high risk of putting people living in it through mental stress and exhaustion.

2. Wall hues:

The colours that you use on your walls at home also have some effect on your brain. They can affect your emotional well-being and it may sound strange, but your sleep as well! For instance, blue rooms are believed to be those that provide the best night’s sleep as compared with those who have different colours in their bedroom. Also, it is best to avoid purple in the bedroom as it can cut down nightly hours, making you fatigued in the morning.

3. The idiot box:

Ever felt sleepy while watching television? The reason is because your television emits blue wavelengths that suppress the production of a chemical called melatonin in the brain. This chemical makes you feel tired and helps you fall asleep. Lack of it can mean you are more likely to have shorter, disturbed sleep, causing you to feel tired the next day.

4. Your coffee machine:

Coffee may be the one thing to kick start your mornings with, but the same might be the reason for your lack of sleep. Caffeine works as a stimulant that boosts energy. It may also, however, leave you feeling even more tired, especially if you are in the habit of drinking coffee after dinner. To avoid any loss of sleep, try and limit your coffee intake.
