Traffic was crawling in most parts of the sprawling city due to water-logging and inundation. Long lines of vehicles were moving at snail's pace at several road crossings, according to the traffic police,

A senior traffic police officer told IANS that water-logging caused severe traffic snarls near Moti Bagh, Chirag Delhi, Dhaula Kuan, Lodhi Road to Defence Colony flyover, Mayapuri, from Mayapuri to Naraina, Raja Garden Chowk, Moti Nagar-Karampura crossing, and Bahadurgarh.

"I started from my home in Kalkaji around 9 a.m. and reached my office in Gurgaon's Udyog Vihar around 11.25 a.m., taking more than two hours due to massive jams near C.R. Park and Munirka due to water-logging. It usually takes just an hour to reach my office," Sweta Kumari, an IT professional, told IANS.

Delhi received 26 mm rain in the past 24 hours till 8.30 a.m., an official of the weather department said.
