New Delhi: Four AIADMK members, who were elected to the Rajya Sabha in the recent biennial elections, today took oath.

Party's leader A Navaneethakrishnan along with S R Balasubramoniyan, R Vaithilingam and A Vijayakumar took oath in the House.


Except for Vijayakumar, all other members took oath in English.


Vijayakumar took oath in Tamil.


The House also mourned the passing away of its former member Adbul Gaiuyur Qureshi on March 13 at the age of 83 years.


An advocate by profession, Qureshi represented Madhya Pradesh in the Upper House from April 1996 to April 2002.


"In passing away of Qureshi, the country has lost a distinguished parliamentarian, an able administrator and a legal luminary," Ansari said.


Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed.
