Srinagar: A suspected Pakistani terrorist was caught alive after militants on Wednesday attacked a BSF convoy on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur killing two men of the border guarding force and injuring 11 personnel while the other terrorist involved in the strike was shot dead in retaliatory fire.

The terrorist, who had escaped from the encounter site and taken three persons hostage in a school building in a nearby hamlet, was arrested after an operation was launched by the army and the police, defence sources said, as per PTI.


Following is all that we know about him:


- The terrorist has been identified as Mohammad Naved. He told the media, “It's fun doing this.”


- He entered the Jammu region 12 days ago along with a fellow terrorist who was killed in retaliatory fire by BSF.


- This is the first suspected Pakistani terrorist to be captured alive after Ajmal Kasab, who was nabbed during the dreaded terror attack in Mumbai in 2008.


- Initially he was identified as Kasim and also Usman. Later his real name was revealed as Mohammad Naved.


- He was caught with an AK-47 rifle, as per reports.


- Naved is said to belong to Faisalabad, Pakistan.


- Reports also say that he is a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative.


- He was dressed in a dark blue shirt and brown trousers when he was caught.


- Some reports said that he was in his early 20s but later claimed that he was only 16. He had been changing his statements. First he identified himself as Kasim and later as Usman.
