The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha continued in perpetual deadlock since the start of the session on November 16 over the manner in which note ban should be discussed in the House, and the Opposition demanding PM Modi's to speak on the issue in the Parliament.

The only time truce seemed between the Opposition and government was over the passage of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2014.
