New Delhi: The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday cleared the way for signing an MoU with Hungary for cooperation in water management.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and HUngary`s Ministry of Interior.

"It will enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of water management, on the basis of equality and mutual benefits. This will encourage the development of bilateral relations between public and private organisations concerning water resources of both the countries," an official statement said.

The statement added that both countries will benefit from joint activities and mutual exchange of scientific delegations and experts in the field of water resources development and management.

The cooperation particularly focuses on river basin and integrated water resources management, efficiency in water supply and irrigation technology innovation and flood and drought management which will help improve the socio-economic conditions of people of both the countries.
