Can`t confirm or deny Chhota Rajan`s deportation, says Indian envoy
Confirming `no delay` in the deportation of underworld don Chhota Rajan, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Gurjit Singh on Friday said that due procedures would be followed in this regard.
Bali: Confirming "no delay" in the deportation of underworld don Chhota Rajan, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Gurjit Singh on Friday said that due procedures would be followed in this regard.
"There is no delay in anything, it is just a perception. We are having a procedure to follow. These procedures are to be decided by the relevant agencies in India. So, we are going to follow whatever directions we are given. My embassy and the consulate in Bali are ready to implement those directions" Singh told ANI here.
"Once a decision is taken on what procedures are to be followed and consultations are complete which are now underway, we will take the necessary procedures and go ahead. The existence of an agreement or lack of it has not hindered cooperation with Indonesia in the past and don't expect to do so now," he added.
Rajan, one of India's most wanted criminals and a leading figure in the Mumbai underworld, was arrested at Bali, Indonesia, on October 24. Rajan is wanted for at least 68 cases in Mumbai alone, including over 20 murder cases and other serious offences under MCOCA, POTA and the Arms Act.
