New Delhi: The Winter Session of the Parliament is set to commence from November 26 and end on December 23.

A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, which met at the Parliament House here this morning.


The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The NDA government is keen to take up important legislations to be passed in Parliament like GST bill, land bill, the real estate regulation and development bill and negotiable instruments arbitration bill.

The Winter Session will happen in the backdrop of BJP suffering a massive defeat in Bihar, which has further emboldened the Opposition.


The session as such is expected to begin at a stormy note during which the Opposition is likely to corner the government on issues like return of awards by writers and filmmakers, Dadri beef lynching and related incidents.
