New Delhi: Congress MP and Pappu Yadav's wife Ranjeet Ranjan rode an orange Harley-Davidson motorcycle to the Parliament on International Women's Day.

Ranjan is a Lok Sabha MP from Bihar's Supaul district.


The 42-year-old Lok Sabha member, wearing a blue attire with helmet and sunglasses, rode around the Parliament complex before entering the House to take part in day's proceedings. 


Ranjeet said she can come to Parliament on motorcycle and cycle daily. "My life has been such that my parents have never objected to whatever I have done so far," she said. 


She defeated Dileshwar Kamait of Janata Dal (United) and Kameshwar Chaupal of Bharatiya Janata Partty (BJP) in the 2014 General Elections.


The Congress MP had garnered 332927 votes.


She married Pappu Yadav in 1994 and entered in the political arena in 1995. She lost her first Assembly elections in the same year.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed gratitude to women for the role they play in the society, on the occasion of International Women's Day.


Modi said their role in the society is indispensable.
