New Delhi: Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi on Wednesday briefed Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, according to official sources.

Mehrishi, who visited the state on Tuesday, gave his assessment of the situation in the Kashmir Valley as well as the border areas, days after a terror attack on an army camp in Uri left 18 soldiers dead.

In Srinagar, Mehrishi held crucial interactions with Governor N.N. Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and civil, police and intelligence officials, the sources said.
