New Delhi: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday informed that monsoon in Kerala is likely to arrive soon.

IMD Director BP Yadav said that the department has observed change in winds and the that Kerala is likely to receive its first showers soon.


The MeT department also forecast thundershowers in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Northern Rajasthan and Western UP between June 1 to 3.


But pre-monsoon rain is still being observed in Karnataka and Kerala.


Rainfall will also bring some respite from the scorching heat in the southern India.


Over 1800 people have died due to heatwave across India recently, most of them accounting from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
