Kuala Lumpur: An Indian national was allegedly killed on Tuesday in Malaysia after an altercation with a Pakistani at the country's popular shopping strip.

The victim identified as Surjeet Singh who worked as a barber had a fight with the 29-year-old man at Jalan Bukit Bintang.


"Once police arrived at the location, the victim, identified as Surjeet Singh who worked as a barber, had succumbed to his injuries," said Zainuddin Ahmad, City police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner.


A witness informed the police that a foreign man had ran towards a nearby hotel, The Malaysian Times reported.


Zainuddin said police later arrested a Pakistani to assist investigation.


The cause of the fight it is not yet known.
