New Delhi: Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha on Friday said relief vans were on their way to the site where the Dehradun-Varanasi Janta Express train derailed this morning.

"Relief van is on its way, when we have more information, we will let you know," said Sinha.


Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Manoj Pandey assured that officials were reaching the accident spot and the state government will do whatever is required.


Earlier in the day, the engine and two bogies of the Dehradun-Varanasi Janta Express train derailed near Bachhrawan in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli district after the brakes failed to deploy in time.


Sources from the Railways said at least 40-50 people have been injured in the incident and a high number of casualties are expected.
