Lovers found hanging in UP village

Lucknow: The bodies of two alleged lovers were found hanging from a tree on the outskirts of Isanagar in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh by villagers on Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said that the two were in a relationship for the past two years and were trying to convince their families to agree to their marriage. However, the two families were bitterly opposed to this.

The girl`s wedding had been fixed for June 5 and the duo apparently took the extreme step because of their impending separation, a police officer told IANS.

Police said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem and both families had been called for questioning.
