According to police, the activists claimed that they have recovered beef from their luggage but it was later found to be buffalo meat after laboratory test.

A news report in the Indian Express said that the police have arrested two persons identified as Hemant Rajput and Santosh in connection with the case.

According to the victim, 43-year-old Mohammed Hussain, he and his wife were retunring to their home in Harda district from Hyderabad when the incident took place.

"We eat only goat meat. We live in India and we know what is right or wrong. The black bag, which contained meat does not belong to us. They beat my wife. We were rescued by a police constable," said Mohammed Hussain.

Both the arrested persons, Rajput and Santosh have been sent to jail and a search has been launched to nab five other members of the samiti.
