PM Modi tweeted: "I bow to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Nirvan Divas. India will always be thankful to Babasaheb for his rich service to the nation."


The Prime Minister also paid floral tributes to the architect of Indian constitution at a function in Parliament.


Host of programmes are being organised in different parts of the country to remember the Dalit mascot.


Babasaheb Ambedkar breathed his last on December 6, 1956. He was born on April 14, 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh.
