Man held for theft; booty worth Rs 13.30 lakh seized in Mumbai
A notorious criminal has been arrested from Navi Mumbai and stolen jewellery worth around Rs 13.8 lakh seized from him after cops cracked 21 cases of house-breaking in the region.

According to Joint Commissioner of Navi Mumbai police Madhukar Pandey, the arrested accused Jashpalsingh Gopalsingh Koranga, 31, is a resident of Nevali, near Hajimalang Hills.
The Crime Branch officials had a tip-off that the accused was to visit the Janta Market at Turbhe and laid a trap on Thursday and nabbed him late in the evening, police said.
The probe team which interrogated him recovered 460 gms of gold ornaments which he had allegedly mortgaged. The booty was valued at around Rs 13.8 lakh, the official said.
Police have booked him under sections 454 (lurking house trespass or house-breaking), 457 (lurking house-trespass or housebreaking by night in order to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment) and 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the IPC.
Two of Singh's associates are on the run and police have launched a manhunt to nab them, Pandey said.
The official said that around 21 cases have been registered against Singh of which five are in Koparkharine, one in Turbhe MIDC, three in Rabale, two each in Rabale MIDC, APMC, Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar and Sanpada areas.
He said that offences of attempted dacoity and theft of vehicles have been registered against him with the APMC police station.
Apart from these, cases of housebreaking thefts with Naupada police at Thane city and also attempt to murder in Pound Police station of Pune Rural have been registered against Koranga.
