Ahmedabad: The mobile internet services have been blocked for four hours on Sunday across Gujarat.
The government has taken the step to prevent misuse of cell phones during Revenue Talatis (Accountants) Recruitment Exam in the state, according to a TOI report.
The Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal (Gujarat State Subsidiary Selection Board or GSSSB) would conduct the exam from 10 AM to 1 PM on Sunday and the measure of blocking the mobile internet services has been adopted to check the cheating in the examination.
Internet service providers have been asked to shut down all internet-based social media services from 9AM to 1 PM to prevent the misuse of mobiles during exam.
GSSSB chairperson Asit Vora had requested the state government to block mobile internet services during the exam.
Over eight lakh candidates will take the test in various districts of Gujarat on Sunday.
