New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy, who has time and again advocated for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on the issue of governance, Hindutva and anti-corruption.

Swamy made the comments while giving an interview to Aaj Tak news channel.

While commenting on the Bihar poll loss, the fireband BJP leader said the party registered an emphatic win in General elections as it advocated 'Hindutva', but during the Bihar Assembly elections the party didn't rake up the matter and spoke about governance only.

While pitching in for a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, Swamy maintained that a time frame should be given for the construction of a 'Mandir' in the temple city.

When he was asked whether he considered it as a failure on part of Modi government as it has not given any time frame for the construction of the temple, Swamy said he considers it as a mistake.

Earlier, Swamy had appealed to PM Modi-led central government to begin the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya by 2016.

Swamy, on his Twiiter account, had said, “My appeal to Modi government stands: Building Ram Temple in Ayodhya must begin in 2016. If government doesn't know how then ask me or get out of my way.”
