New Delhi: Former media tycoon Peter Mukerjea, who was arrested late Thursday in connection with the 2012 murder of his step-daughter Sheena Bora, was on Friday sent to CBI custody till Monday. He was booked under the IPC Section 201 for causing disappearance of evidence of offence or giving false information to screen offender. Since the news of the murder emerged in August, Peter Mukerjea has been questioned by the police extensively on more than one occasion.

Here's are few important things which Peter said during the probe:


August 26: According to a DNA report, Peter Mukerjea said that he had no idea that Sheena was Indrani’s daughter. ‘I’m still holding out a little hope that this is all some big mistake,’ said Peter in his statements and that he was ‘dumbstruck by the level of criminality…’ According to The News Crunch report published and updated on the same day, Peter claimed to know about the affair between Sheena Bora and his son Rahul Mukherjea and had no qualms about it as both were consenting adults.


The very next day, Peter claimed that Sheena had told him about Indrani’s daughter. His son, Rahul had told him as well, but when he confronted Indrani about it, she denied it and told him not to believe it. He said that be believed his wife and believed her ‘9.5 out of 10 and 10 on 10 unless proven wrong’.


August 28: As per The Times of India, Peter submitted a written statement at the Khar police station. He had prepared the statement at home. According to the report, he left the police station in 20 minutes.


According to another DNA report on the very same day, Peter told the police that he had no information about the killing and had no direct or indirect connection with it. He also said that he was in Europe in 2012. He added that his wife and driver did not mention anything about the killing. He also said that Sheena was her sister, and not her daughter. He said that his son Rahul had told him about the incident but he did not believe him. Peter further claimed that he was willing to cooperate, and added that he knew about Rahul's relationship with Sheena and neither of them approved of the relationship.


August 29: In an interview published in Mail Today, Peter stated that he had never met his father-in-law and always believed everything that Indrani had told him about his past.


September 03: According to The New Indian Express report, during an extensive questioning by the police, Peter said that he was informed of the mother-daughter relationship in 2008 in a letter from Sheena’s brother, Mikhail Bora. Sheena had informed him Indrani was her mother in 2010, a year before she got engaged to Rahul Mukherjea.
