Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Congress leader Kapil Sibal said, “He is more concerned about non- resident Indians, than resident Indians.”

Sibal alleged that the PM was busy with his foreign tours and not concerned about the plight of farmers in the country.

“52% agricultural households in India have an average debt of Rs 47,000 and out of that they owe Rs 26,000 to private money lenders. Has the Prime Minister ever thought about it...as he goes about making big claims,” Sibal said.

Suhaana safar aur ye mausam haseen, janta keh rhi hai, 'humein darr hai hum kho na jayein kahin”, he added.

“When out of the country he (PM) says that India has changed but never makes the claim when he is in the country,” Sibal said.

Capitalising on the angst on Twitter, Sibal slammed the PM over his “ashamed to be born Indians” remark – as quoted by the media.

"Earlier you felt ashamed of being born Indian," the Prime Minister had said during an interaction with Indian community in Shanghai, according to reports. "Now you feel proud to represent the country. Indians abroad had all hoped for a change in government last year," he added.

On NDA government’s foreign policy, Sibal said, “Where is the foreign policy? I can’t see one.”

“He (PM) himself says that world leaders are impressed by him, should any Prime Minsiter make such claims?” Sibal said, adding that a wrong person has been voted in as PM.

The former union minister also chided Modi for unilaterally announcing e-visas for Chinese nationals.

“In China PM unilaterally announced e-visas for Chinese nationals. When Foreign Secretary was asked about it, he said no such decision was taken,” he said.

If you cannot bring achche din for the people at least bring sacche din, Sibal added.
