San Jose: While addressing the Indian diaspora at SAP Centre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that "brain drain" is "brain gain" as it will be benefitting the country with added interests.
"I think that this isn't brain drain but it is brain deposit. When the time comes, these brains will give back services to India with added interests. Brain drain can become brain gain. Did anyone ever think about this?" asked Prime Minister Modi during his address here.
"We would hear that we need to stop the brain drain. But India is Bahuratna Vasundhara, there are many brains in the country," he added.
Prime Minister Modi also said that the Indian community has changed the Silicon Valley with its effort and innovations.
"Your fingers have created magic on the keyboard and computer and this gave India, a new identity. Your skill and commitment is wonderful," he added.
He also praised the Sikh community residing in the country.
"Our Sikh brothers came here years ago and when Indians wanted freedom, there was a movement for India's freedom here too," he added.
