Seoul: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Monday treated to a special vegetarian dinner at the banquet hosted by President Park Geun-hye at the Blue House, or presidential residence.

"A special Banquet in honour of a special Partnership! And a special Korean Vegetarian Menu," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.


The menu ranged from Special Chilled Salad, Nutritious Walnut Porridge, Royal court Tteok (Korean rice cake), Japchae (potato noodles stir-fried with vegetables) and Jeonyueo (pancake like dishes), Five-Colour Steamed Tofu and Stir-Fried Vegetables.


There was also Assorted Seons and Grilled Vegetables, Spring Vegetable Goldongban and Perilla Seed and Vegetable Shinseollo, Fresh Fruit platter with Byunggwa or Royal Court Dessert, and Citrus Wonsobyung.


There were also five side dishes, including Kimchi (a traditional Korean dish made of seasoned vegetables and salt), Seasoned Blanched Spinach, Nabak Kimchi (Watery Kimchi), Butterbur Stem stir-fry, and Burdock Japchae, as per a photo of the banquet menu posted by Swarup.
