President hails diversity among IAS probationers
A group of IAS probationers, including officer trainees from the Royal Bhutan Civil Services, called on the President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
New Delhi: A group of IAS probationers, including officer trainees from the Royal Bhutan Civil Services, called on the President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.
These officers are currently undergoing the IAS Professional Course Phase -I for the 2015 batch. The President welcomed the young officers to Rashtrapati Bhavan and hailed the fact they were all from diverse back grounds.
He stated that in India we not only celebrate diversity, but cherish diversity.He said that they had all come from diverse backgrounds but this diversity had converged into one stream, that of a very distinguished public service.President Mukherjee also urged the probationers to be the change which they aspire to see in society. He advised them to always remember that they represent the face of the Government.
He said that the motto of their Academy was `sheelam param bhushanam` and therefore their best ornament should be their conduct and behavior towards the public.
He said that their attitude and approach towards their job was important as it would not only affect their own careers but also the future of the nation.
In this regard, if they felt that they were making a contribution in building the nation, they would get immense satisfaction.On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the IAS probationers of the 2015 batch at the Parliament Library.
The probationers are in Delhi to attend the training at `Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training` from February 22 to 26.
