New Delhi: A large number of terrorists were killed in “surgical strikes” carried out by the Indian Army against “enemy” positions across the Line of Control (LoC), Director General Military Operations Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh said.

India inflicted significant casualties on terrorists in LoC surgical strikes, he said, adding adding that there were no casualty on the side of the Indian troops.


"India cannot allow terrorists to operate across the LoC (Line of Control) and strike with impunity," Singh said at press briefing here, soon after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security.


"I had spoken to the Pakistan DGMO and we expect the Pakistan Army to cooperate with us to eliminate the threat of terror," he said," adding: "The strikes were carried out based on specific and credible information," he said, adding, The cabinet meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
