According to a report in the Times of India, the ministry of defence has rejected three tableau models showcasing Telangana's culture and heritage that were presented before it.

Expressing his disappointment over the rejection, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) floor leader in the Lok Sabha AP Jitender Reddy told that the state government has decided not to send any tableau in future also. He said there is not point in sending when the rejection is imminent.

This is the second time when Telangana is facing this situation. In  last Republic Day parade in 2015, Telangana's  tableau was rejected by the selection committee headed by a joint secretary in the defence ministry. It was only after that the state made a special request, they were included in the parade.
