New Delhi: Days after security forces gunned down Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Muzaffar Wani, a counter-insurgency officer has revealed - Why security officials killed Burhan Wani.

"Burhani Wani and his gang were armed terrorists; for how long the state accommodate lawlessness," a counter-insurgency officer said.


"The spate of terror attacks in the past two months, especially on the CRPF convoy that killed eight jawans, changed the line of thinking within the security establishment," counter-insurgency officer revealed, according to a report in TOI.


"This fresh wave of militancy was attracting young educated boys, hailing from wealthy families; state had to send out a tough message to terrorists and others," the officer added.


Noteworthy, Burhan Wani was quite happy about killings of CRPF men in Pampore attack. Also, he hailed the Pakistan's terrorists


"Pampore attack: Three more CRPF men succumb; toll 8. Both the two Lashkar Fidayeen brothers belong to pakistan. May Allah accept them _aameen_ (sic)," Burhan Wani had tweeted after Pampore attack in which 8 CRPF men were killed.


Curfew continued for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday in most parts of the Kashmir Valley to prevent widespread violence which started here on Saturday following the death of top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani. He was killed in a gunfight on Friday along with two of his associates, 30 people including 29 civilian protesters and a policeman have died so far.
