Jammu: A security discussion was organised in Pathankot on March 16 and 17, with a view to synergise the efforts of various agencies involved with security of rear areas, particularly the army and police forces.

Apart from higher commanders of the army, the discussion was attended by senior officers from the civil administration, police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and RPF officers, as well as, officers of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and representatives of Nehru Yuva Kendra.


The aim of the discussion was to work out the modalities of joint functioning and focused on ways of sharing intelligence and inter-communication.


The contribution of NCC Cadets, members of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Village Defence Committees and Veterans was also discussed and formalised.
