New Delhi: In what can be described as height of insensitivity, non-government organisation (NGO) Goonj is receiving rotten pooja material and blood-soaked undergarments as contribution from donors.
Goonj, a Magsaysay award-winning NGO, posted shocking pictures of rotten food, broken utensils, rotten pooja material and blood-soaked undergarments on Facebook, and urged the donors not to insult the dignity of the team and the recipients.
Goonj is known for its systematic approach in large-scale relief and rehabilitation work with many innovative approaches. Apart from working on a series of gap areas it also works on a number of income generation initiatives like Sujni, school bags making, Vaapsi, Village Hats (markets), and tailoring centers to bring back the local economy on track.
