New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday constituted two committees for the birth centenary celebrations of former PM Indira Gandhi.

The two committees are Indira Gandhi Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee and Indira Gandhi Birth Centenary Celebration's Implementation Committee, said a Congress statement released by party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.

The former Prime Minister was born on November 19, 1917.

The Indira Gandhi Birth Centenary Celebrations Committee has 21 members with Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, A. K. Antony, Karan Singh, Shivraj Patil, Madhavsinh Solanki, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Mallikarjun Kharge, Mohsina Kidwai, Sheila Dikshit, Tarun Gogoi, P. Chidambaram, Lalthanhawla, Anand Sharma, Mani Shankar Aiyar, R.K. Dhawan, Kumari Selja, Oscar Fernandes, Manikrao Gavit, and D.D. Lapang.

"The treasurer, political secretary, general secretaries, in-charges and heads of frontal organisations will be ex-officio members of the committee," read the statement.

Meanwhile, Sheila Dikshit, Mani Shankar Aiyar and Anand Sharma have been made the conveners of the Indira Gandhi Birth Centenary Celebration's Implementation Committee, while Mukul Wasnik has been made its secretary.

The committee has 12 members which also include Motilal Vora, Janardan Dwivedi, Ajay Maken, D. K. Shivkumar, Asha Kumari, Milind Deora, Priya Dutta and Imran Kidwai.
