There`s no war like scenario in Arunachal Pradesh: CM Tuki
Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Saturday endorsed BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha`s view that when there is no war-like situation in Arunachal Pradesh, what was need for the Centre to recommend and impose president`s rule in the state.
New Delhi: Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Saturday endorsed BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha's view that when there is no war-like situation in Arunachal Pradesh, what was need for the Centre to recommend and impose president's rule in the state.
"I think the statement of Shatrughan Sinha clearly shows that he feels the pain of people of Arunachal Pradesh. The entire nation knows that an injustice has been done with Arunachal and we await justice from the Supreme Court," Tuki told ANI.
Taking strong exception to the Centre's 'war like scenario' claim in Arunachal Pradesh, Tuki said the report of the ruling regime wasn't correct, as it hadn't consulted the state machinery.
"I don't feel that it is a correct report. This report is just one side; the Centre has not consulted the state government nor the district administration. This is a report which has been made by one person. There has been no such (war-like) situation in the state and (it) won't ever take place," he added.
BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha had criticised the Centre's decision to impose President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
Sinha in a series of tweets took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "great advisors" wondering what answers they will have if the Supreme Court ruled against it.
"I have tremendous faith in our dashing, dynamic action hero PM. But wonder who the 'great' advisors are who advised President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh. That too when the matter is sub judice, in the Supreme Court, under a 5 judge constitutional bench. Wonder what was the hurry and worry," he said.
"God forbid, if the decision does not go in our favor, wonder what explanation and answer we will have for our respected PM," Sinha tweeted.
The Centre had earlier submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court justifying imposition of President's Rule in Arunachal, saying there was "complete breakdown" of governance and law and order in the state and "war like situation" prevailed in the state.
President Pranab Mukherjee had earlier this week given assent to Union Cabinet's decision to impose central rule in Arunachal Pradesh.
