The Akhilesh Yadav-led UP state cabinet on Tuesday cleared the 7th Pay Commission salary hike for the state government employees.


Reportedly, the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for the salaries of UP government employees will be in effect from Jan 2017.


The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday; meeting was chaired by UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.


Now, the government is expected to table another supplementary budget in the assembly session starting December 21.


The budget will be for sanctions to fund the revised scales of employees and pensioners.


The budgetary allocation for this is expected to be to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore.


With this, over 16 lakh government employees and 6 lakh pensioners will be benefited directly.
