He accused the NDA government of helping Mallya to “escape” the country.

“Vijay Mallya is not a needle that can’t be found. He is a tall and well-endowed man who can be seen from 1 km away,” Azad said in the Rajya Sabha.

“Without the help of the government, he could not have escaped,” he added.

Vijay Mallya, facing a probe in a loan default case, apparently managed to leave the country in spite of a look-out notice against him by the CBI.

“The Attorney General tells the Supreme Court that we had issued lookout notice but he managed to escape. When so many agencies were interrogating him, why wasn’t he arrested, why wasn’t his passport taken away?” Azad said.

Mallya has left for UK on March 2.
