However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had then denied that.

Now, the weather forecaster has said that the Monsoon is stuck in Goa.

Amid heavy rains in Karnataka and Kerala, the IMD said as per The Indian Express, “The Monsoon is only just approaching the south of Goa.”

“In the next three to four days, the conditions are going to become favourable for the approaching Monsoon,” the newspaper quoted an official at the IMD's Mumbai office as saying.

However, there's still some time before the arrival of Monsoon in Mumbai is officially declared “as the rains have to make their way over Konkan before approaching the state, especially its interior regions.”

The apparent delay is due to a poor cyclonic circulation, the report said.
