Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Saturday admitted to a super specialty hospital here.

Police sources said Malik had been referred to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) by a team of doctors at a private hospital where he had been taken for a medical check-up from the central jail.


"He needs specialised attention," said a doctor at the private hospital.

Senior separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has prayed for Malik`s early recovery.


SKIMS is the Valley`s only super specialty hospital.


Malik had been lodged in a sub-jail before he was shifted to the central sub-jail before he was shifted to the central jail in Srinagar earlier this month.


He was put under detention immediately after the present unrest started here on July 9.
