No threat to our alliance with BJP, Masarat Alam`s release is not illegal: PDP
Defending the PDP-led government`s stand on separatist leader Masarat Alam`s release, party leader Firdous Tak on Monday said that no illegal procedure was followed while releasing the latter and the issue will not affect his party`s alliance with the BJP.

Tak, while speaking to ANI, said, “There is no illegality in Masarat Alam's release and he has been released on bail in all cases.”
Further talking about the PDP-BJP alliance in J&K, Tak said that controversy over Alam's release will not affect the coalition.
“There is no threat to our alliance with BJP. There is a mechanism in place,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.
He also added, “PDP believes reconciliation is a part of agenda. State government is allowed to take decisions for peace in state.”
Alam's release from Baramulla jail sparked outrage in Parliament today, with Opposition demanding the BJP to break alliance with the PDP in J&K.
Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi also issued a statement in Lok Sabha that whatever happened in the J&K after the formation of the PDP-BJP government, Centre was neither informed nor consulted and his government will take necessary action.
