Hizbul Mujhadeen commander assures terror free Amarnath Yatra, says no separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits
Srinagar: In a surprise move, most wanted Hizbul Mujhadeen commander of Kashmir, has assured terror free Amarnath Yatra for Hindu pilgrims.
In a video released, 22-year old Burhan Muzaffar Wani, has assured the Hindu pilgrims that there are no plans to attack the people coming for the pilgrimage.
“They (Hindu pilgrims) are coming here to fulfill their religious duties and we have nothing to do with it,” said Burhan.
The Hizbul Mujhadeen commander's statement comes days after a top Border Security Force (BSF) officer said that there are intelligence reports about militants planning to attack the forthcoming Amarnarh Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the video Burhan is seen opposing separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits. However, he further said, “Pandits can come here and live in their respective places.
They have their own lands, house and other properties, We will not allow separate colonies on Israel pattern for Hindus.”
The 22-year-old, hailing from Tral area of south Kashmir, warned the security officials saying, “Now we will not give any more warnings. There will be action against every person in uniform who furthers the laws of India in Kashmir.”
He warned the police officials not to harm his men and urged them to discharge their duties and join his outfit.
Burhan also warned media asking it to mend its way while projecting the militants in Kashmir. “Had we been the terrorists we could have shut you up a long back. You go through the history and find out who is the terrorist,” he said.
