Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a leopard entered a school compound here on Sunday injuring at least five people.
As per media reports, the officials of Forest Department and police tranquilised and trapped the big cat after 14-hour long operation.
The leopard entered the Vibgyor School at Kundalahalli near Whitefield at around 4 am today.
A CCTV grab of the leopard captured inside the school shows the big cat jumping over a boundary wall and entering the school compound.
The big cat was also caught-on-camera attacking few people present inside the school premises.
However, as the school was closed on Sunday, barring a couple of security guards, hundreds of students and faculty were lucky to have escaped a ferocious attack by the eight-year-old leopard.
Of the five persons injured in the rescue operation, a wildlife activist Sanjay Gubbi, was hurt grievously.
Meanwhile, speaking to IBN Live, Dr Boralingaiah, DCP South-east Bengaluru, said, "The big cat has been confined inside a room. Efforts are on to capture the leopard."
