The victim, who works as a data processor at a finance firm in Bangalore's Jalahalli area, alleged that for the past three to four months, she had been regularly harassed by her 38-year-old manager, identified as Mallappa.

According to a TOI report, the accused, who is already married, would pull her dupatta and touch her inappropriately when they were no employees in the office.

In her complaint to Peenya police, she also said that the accused had offered her a marriage proposal.

"I was helpless, I had no option and put up with Mallappa's harassment for months. I knew that no one would believe me if I had complained against him since he was the manager. I would be sacked instead," the report quoted her as saying.

She said that the accused had approached her several times for sexual favours. "He even offered to financially support my studies and getting me a good job, but I refused," she added.
