On March 09, a 22-year-old migrant worker from West Bengal won a Rs one crore Kerala government lottery just three days after coming to the city looking for work.


Mofijul Rahana Sheikh, hailing from Lakshmipur of Malda district in West Bengal, purchased the 'Karunya' lottery ticket on March 4, the day he arrived here, for Rs 50 from a vendor at nearby Vellimadakunnu, police said. He won the Rs one crore prize in the draw held the next day.
