Appearing before the one-member commission headed by Justice G Sivaraman, Chandy clarified his position on his submission in the 'proof affidavit' filed before the Commission on his behalf, yesterday.

CM Chandy maintained that the scam had not caused any loss to the government exchequer and that he nor his office had helped the accused in any way to make monetary gains.

The scam relates to the fraud carried out by entrepreneurs Saritha Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan in the name of installing solar power panels. While Saritha is out on bail, Radhakrishnan is still in jail.

The Justic Sivaraman commission was constituted by the Chandy-led UDF government in 2013 after the LDF carried out massive protests demanding CM's resignation after it came to light that three members of Chandy's staff were in touch with the con couple.
