Thiruvananthapuram: After cricket, S Sreesanth's innings in politics too failed to achieve anything substantial.

The cricketer-turned-politician, who fought on the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Thiruvananthapuram seat in the Kerala Legislative Assembly Election 2016, failed to score runs for the BJP.


 


Sreesanth was a surprise choice for the Assembly Election here.


Instead of being fielded from his home district Ernakulam, the former cricketer was fielded from Thiruvananthapuram by the BJP.


With 34,764 votes, Sreesanth managed to get third spot only after Health Minister VS Sivakumar of the Congress and Antony Raju (Independent).


 


Despite facing defeat, Sreesanth, however, put a brave face and said that he would continue to work for people.
