The incident occurred last evening at Lodha Group's New Cuffe Parade project, Suhas Garud, senior inspector of Wadala TT police station, said today.

"Out of the 12 injured labourers, nine were admitted to a private hospital in Sion, while the rest were rushed to Sion Hospital," Garud said.

All the injured workers are out of danger, except one who is undergoing treatment in Sion Hospital, he added.

According to Garud, the contract for construction of the multi-storey building has been outsourced to a company named Al Fara'a.

"Initial probe suggests that it was negligence on the part of the contractor and the concerned officials of the company will be arrested soon," Garud said.
