Sex workers skip meals to raise funds for Chennai flood victims
Some 2,000 sex workers have pitched in to help raise funds for the Chennai flood victims.
Mumbai: Hundreds of sex workers in Maharashtra have skipped one meal daily for several days to help raise funds for the flood affected people in Chennai, a report said on Thursday.
According to CNN-IBN, sex workers in Maharashtra's Ahmadnagar district have raised about 1 lakh rupees to help the victims of the devastating floods in Chennai which happened about a month ago.
The floods, triggered by heavy rains, were attributed to the El Nino phenomenon.
Some 2,000 sex workers have pitched in for this endeavour, the report said.
The inspiring work by the sex workers have attracted a lot of praise from different quarters.
