Shirdi: The construction of airport near Shirdi is likely to be complete by year-end, a top official of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) said on Thursday.
The airport is coming up at Kakadi village, 14 km from the temple town, for which the construction began in 2010. While the construction of the runway was over, that of the terminal building is in progress, MADC managing director Tanaji Satre said.
The Saibaba Temple Trust has provided Rs 45 crore for the airport. The town attracts lakhs of visitors every year because of the Saibaba shrine.
