Mumbai: The face-off over Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book appears to have taken the friction between the alliance partners in Maharashtra to breaking point.

As per reports, the Shiv Sena is all set to severe its alliance with the BJP. Sena ministers in the Devndra Fadnavis government will also resign from their posts.

The TOI reported that Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is upset with the style of functioning of Chief Minister Fadnavis.


Sena leaders told the paper that "condescending style of behaviour" of the BJP is not going down well with party cadre.

The immediate fallout of the divorce will be the upcoming Kalyan Dombivili municipal polls as reports suggest that Sena may go alone and will fight the BJP.


Reported added that the Sena leadership holds the view that BJP's popularity is falling in Maharashtra and the Sena will have to pay the price for it electorally.
