Woman`s body found stuffed in gunny bag in Maharashtra
The body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed in a gunny bag at Tumbdepada village in the district, police said on Saturday.
Palghar (Maha): The body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed in a gunny bag at Tumbdepada village in the district, police said on Saturday.
"Body of the woman aged around 35 years, was found stuffed in a gunny bag, which was dumped near a nullah on Umrate Road in Tumbdepada village. It was found by a local school teacher yesterday afternoon," Police Inspector Sanjay Hazare of the Wada police station said.
There were no external injuries on the body which has been sent for a post-mortem.
According to police, the victim could have been murdered around four days back and dumped in Wada in an effort to destroy evidence.
Cases have been registered against unidentified persons under section 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Hazare said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
