New Delhi: A day after Kiran Bedi openly supported Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare said that he has no problem if the former IPS officer wants to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, a leading newspaper reported on Saturday.
Anna`s reaction comes after Bedi, Thursday tweeted: For me it is India First! Stable, Well Governed, Administered, Accountable and Inclusive. As an independent voter, my vote is for NaMo." The newspaper report states that Anna is upset with his ex-team mate Arvind Kejriwal, who broke away from the Jan Lokpal movement and formed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
A close aide of Anna has disclosed to the newspaper that Anna is extremely upset with the newly elected Delhi Chief Minister and won`t talk to him even if Kejriwal personally comes to meet him. Quoting, the social activist`s secretary, the newspaper report stated that some BJP leaders have approached Anna and asked him to campaign for the party, but the anti-corruption crusader has refused to do so saying he won`t campaign for any political outfit.
Interestingly, Anna who is averse to joining politics has given his nod to his team members to join any political outfit and contest the upcoming 2014 General Elections, the report said.
Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Friday said that former Army chief VK Singh and Bedi should be invited to join the party as the two have already expressed their support its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
“We should invite Kiran Bedi and Gen VK Singh to join BJP,” Subramanian Swamy said while speaking to a leading TV news channel.
